POSITION: Engineering Technician (this position could be Engineering Technician I, II, or III, dependent on candidates certifications)

Tech I: The 2019 Salary Schedule – DBM B21 $19.6947 per hour. Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent and prefer enrollment in vocational or trade school in the area of civil engineering or related field. Candidates should have knowledge of computers and software, mathematical concepts, fundamentals and principals and general understanding of highway operations and functions.

Tech II: The 2019 Salary Schedule – DBM B23 $22.8320 per hour. Requires graduation from a 2-year vocational or technical school program in Civil Engineering and two years of survey or engineering experience; or related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience plus the following certifications: Aggregate Production, Grading & Base 1 and 2, Bituminous Plant 1, Bituminous Street 1, Concrete Field 1, Concrete Plant 1, and Erosion & Stormwater Construction Installer.

Tech III: The 2019 Salary Schedule – DBM B24 $24.7963 per hour. Requires vocational or technical college training in civil engineering or construction and five years of experience in construction; or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the duties of the job plus the following certifications: Aggregate Production, Grading & Base 1 and 2, Bituminous Plant 1, Bituminous Street 1 and 2, Concrete Field 1 and 2, Concrete Plant 1, Bridge Construction, and Erosion & Stormwater Construction Installer.

Employment Opportunity: Female Bailiff (on-call)

The Mower County Sheriff’s Office has an opening and is accepting applications for an on-call, non-benefited, non-union Female Bailiff. The wage is $15.25 per hour. Bailiff’s are scheduled on an as needed basis and generally work less than 20 hours per week.

Bailiffs work with a variety of court personnel, government workers and lawyers. The positions primary role is to maintain order and provide security in courtrooms and jury rooms, although many of their day-to-day duties are administrative in nature. Employment Opportunity: Dispatcher/Communications Clerk

The Mower County Law Enforcement Center has openings and is accepting applications for the Dispatcher/Communications Clerk position. The Dispatcher is a full-time union position working 10 hour days, between the hours of 7 pm and 7 am. This position works weekends and holidays.

The position is responsible for dispatching law enforcement, 911 and emergency vehicles and personnel (law enforcement, ambulance, fire, emergency management, first responders) within Mower County. Duties include: monitoring radio traffic of emergency personnel; dispatching of 911 calls and law enforcement personnel; provides information and assistance to callers according to department guidelines, dispatch procedures and routines; updates logs of dispatched calls, records, incidents and actions; conducts license checks, criminal history checks, missing person or stolen property checks; assists in maintaining department files, records, reports and provides clerical support within the department.

Position requires up to one year of specialized or technical training beyond high school in business management, computers, clerical skills or communication or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the duties of this position. The completion of a Terminal Operator’s Certificate is required within six months of hire. Starting Wage is: $21.2633 plus an additional 90₵/hr. between 5pm-7am and 40₵/hr. on Sundays.
