The mission of the GIS staff is to develop, implement and maintain geographically based information for county departments, local government agencies, private companies, and the general public. The GIS staff is responsible for obtaining the necessary data for the county, performing quality control of the data, GIS layer development, distribution of the data, and for the maintenance of the overall GIS system.

The goal of the Mower County GIS is to help facilitate information gathering, provide the necessary tools to help make informed decisions, reduce duplication of duties and to increase productivity for county staff working with geographic information. The GIS office is located in the lower level of the Mower County Government Center.

How to use the Interactive GIS

Access currently available county road plans, right of way maps, and right of way plats via a public viewer.  Contact the Public Works Department with questions about details and available maps at 507-437-7718.

When requesting data from Mower County, please fill out the data request form, and the data use agreement. Payment is required prior to work beginning on any request (Mower County is not able to process payment by debit or credit card at this time).
